This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below.

EMEA people are on the move

Twitter

Carl Anka has been appointed as associate partnerships manager at Twitter UK. He joins from working as a journalist for various outlets including Shortlist, BuzzFeed, Fact Mag and Joe. In his new role, Carl will be leading strategic partnerships with Twitter and UK broadcasters and news organisations.

The Community London

Ryan Lietaer has been appointed as managing director at The Community London.

Lietaer joins the agency following a lengthy career at W&K’s global Coco-Cola business and BBDO Paris to reunite with executive creative director Mark Hunter, whom he met at Wieden & Kennedy Amsterdam ten years ago.

Brilliant Noise

Gareth James has joined Brilliant Noise as the first creative director.

In this new role, James will lead the agency’s creative strategy internally and across client accounts following its recent wins including The Economist and Tetra Park.

180 Kingsday

180 Kingsday has bolstered its team with the appointments of Steve Brown and Jeroen van Hove.

Brown, who has been appointed as content and innovation director, has spent the last five years as chief content officer and creative director at TBWA\Helsinki working with a data-first approach to create work for the likes of Nissan and Neste.

Meanwhile, van Hove brings over 15 years’ experience to the role, joining from from TBWA/Helsinki where he held the role of chief data officer.

Adobe

The sky’s the limit for Philip Duffield after Adobe announced that the media and advertising veteran is to be its new managing director for its advertising cloud in EMEA.

This position will see Duffield assume responsibility for driving growth across the region, fostering relationships between brands and agencies and improving the customer experience.

Wunderman

WPP digital agency Wunderman has appointed Stephan Pretorius to the position of UK group chief executive.

Pretorius will manage the full Wunderman business portfolio in the UK, which includes Acceleration, Burrows, Cognifide, Fusepump, Salmon, Wunderman London and newly consolidated Possible.

Marketing Agencies Association

Rebecca Crook has joined the Marketing Agencies Association as managing director.

Joining from The BIO Agency where she held the role of chief marketing officer, Crook bring 19 years of agency experience to the role with the hope to build the engagement of the core services it offers.

Landor

Jane Geraghty has been named chief executive of Landor, effective the beginning of 2018.

Geraghty has held the president, EMEA, position as well as being a member of the global executive team since 2012 and will succeed Loid Jacobs in her new role.

APAC people on the move

Dentsu Impact

Dentsu Impact has promoted Anupama Ramaswamy to the post of national creative director. She initially joined Dentsu as executive creative director.

Anupama will be leading this team both on the offline as well as digital creative front. Prior to Dentsu, Ramaswamy worked with Cheil, JWT, Lowe Lintas, Rediffusion, Havas and FCB.

Baaash Digital

Ankush Sohoni has been appointed as chief operating officer by Baaash Digital, the digital communication & content division from the Creativeland Asia Group.

Ankush has extensive experience across digital communication, brand strategy and editorial. Prior to Baaash Digital, he was handling NBA India's digital ecosystem at the 120 media collective as business director, prior to which he strategically led businesses like Google Apps For Work, Wai Wai Noodles, Hindustan Unilever (Surf Excel, Pond's Men, Knorr) and World Gold Council to name a few.

USA People on the move

MediaLink

MediaLink has hired Brian Offut to oversee the Ascential company's talent practice. Taking on the role of managing director of people and process, Offut arrives from Sean Combs' Combs Enterprise, where he was managing director, overseeing the hip-hop mogul's portfolio. Prior to that, he was senior vice president for Nickelodeon and had a stint as chief operating officer of Broadway Video Entertainment.

“Brian brings unique and varied expertise to MediaLink, including best in class experience and practices from global market-leaders," said Michael Kassan, chairman and chief executive of MediaLink.

Juniper Park\TBWA

Toronto-based Juniper Park\TBWA has snapped up Graham Lang as chief creative officer. Lang, who joins from Y&R South Africa, will lead the agency’s creative output, as well as partner with the agency's chief executive officer, Jill Nykoliation, and the agency’s leadership team to further grow the business across North America.

Lang has been awarded more than 30 Cannes Lions, 18 D&AD Pencils, and has served on juries for The One Show, Cannes Lions and D&AD. Overseeing six offices as Chief Creative Officer for Y&R South Africa and Africa, he led Y&R to be the most awarded network in Africa at Cannes Lions 2017, with a total of eight Lions from the region.

Undertone

Undertone has appointed two new hires who will be focused on multicultural and Hispanic initiatives. Victor Cornejo and Oscar Leon Walker have been named co-directors of multicultural strategy.

Cornejo previously worked at Richards/Lerma, where he led the MetroPCS, LiveNation and agency new business efforts. Walker was last at Briabe Mobile, a full-service mobile solutions provider.

LookBookHQ

​Content platform LookBookHQ has named Stephen Streich as vice president of product and engineering. Streich was previously Oracle Marketing Cloud's senior director of product and had been with Eloqua and Oracle Marketing Cloud since 2007.

Deutsch

Shreya Mukherjee has returned to Deutsch, rejoining the New York office as senior vice president, group planning director, to lead strategy on clients including PNC Bank and will assist in new business initiatives.

Prior to her time at Publicis, Mukherjee was vice president, planning director, at Deutsch, leading strategy on multiple PNC brand units. Earlier she honed her career as senior director, global consumer strategist, helping build the global division of Iconoculture , working at Now What, where she was involved with a variety of strategy and innovation projects for brands such as Pfizer and Hershey’s.

Partners + Napier

As the account leadership team continues to grow at Partners + Napier, the agency announced the promotion of group account director Elaine Naum to senior vice president. She will continue to report to managing director Courtney Cotrupe.

Naum started at Partners + Napier in 2005 as an account supervisor on the Bausch & Lomb business. She was elected a vice president in 2015 and promoted to group account director that same year.

TBWA/Chiat/Day

TBWA\Chiat\Day New York has hired Chris Beresford-Hill to fill the role of chief creative officer.

He replaces Chris Garbutt, who was promoted to global chief creative officer of TBWA Worldwide earlier this year. Garbutt previously served as global creative president of TBWA Worldwide and chief creative officer of the Omnicom agency’s New York office.

Facebook

In LinkedIn and Facebook posts, Jennifer Dulski, most recently chief operating officer and president of Change.org, revealed that she has joined Facebook as head up its communities team Facebook Groups.

Dulski leaves Change.org at a time when the organization is seeing continued prominence and received a financial shot in the arm from LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman, who led a $30m round of investment.

BBDO New York

BBDO has named Kirsten Flanik president and chief executive officer of the New York agency. She succeeds John Osborn, who will be moving from BBDO NY to become CEO of OMD USA.

Flanik joined BBDO New York in 2006. In addition to being named president of BBDO New York last year, she has been named a “Woman of Influence” by New York Business Journal, among other accolades. Prior to joining BBDO, Flanik spent six years at Fallon Minneapolis and five years at BBH New York as head of account management and business development.
