Account wins

Barclays has appointed OMD as its media agency following a six month-long pitch process, with WPP's GroupM-owned Maxus losing out on the account, which is understood to be worth up to £60m, The Drum understands.

The procurement-led pitch came to conclusion earlier this week with OMD now understood to be awaiting board level sign off before it is made official.

Impero has been tasked with delivering Richmond Sausages’ digital strategy and content. The London-based agency won the account for the Kerry Foods brand following a competitive pitch.

It will work with Richmond to align the sausage maker's online presence with the launch of its 'The Nation’s Favourite' TV ad, which was created by Saatchi & Saatchi.

The Department for International Development (DIT) handed Ogilvy the brief to encourage more UK companies to sell overseas as part of a government drive to improve exports.

The brief is part of the existing "Exporting is Great" campaign that was launched in 2015. Engine previously worked on the brief.

UK fashion brand Superdry has tapped Social Chain to handle its social media marketing as the company looks to ramp up its online profile on their major networks.

Social Chain, with experience in retail from its time working with Boohoo, will look to grow the brand in key markets including the UK, USA and Germany.

Collect+, the UK’s store-based parcel delivery and returns service, has appointed Creature to its creative account following a competitive pitch run by Agency Insight.

Creature has been tasked with creating a multi-channel campaign to increase online shopper awareness and usage of its services, which will launch later this year.

Hinduja Group, the commercial vehicles manufacturer in India, appointed ADK-Fortune as its creative agency for Ashok Leyland. The agency will lead the development of all brand campaigns for Ashok Leyland in India. The account will be handled out of the agency’s Gurgaon office.

Tata Docomo Business Services appointed FCB Ulka as its creative agency. The account was awarded to FCB Ulka following a multi-agency pitch.

As a part of the mandate, the agency will service the Enterprise Business (Tata Docomo Business Services) for the brand and the account will be serviced from the FCB Ulka Mumbai office.

Brand purpose consultancy Given London is set to deliver a new project with Anglian Water following a successful three-way pitch. The new project aims to bring about consumer behaviour change around water usage and test new technologies and innovation being pioneered by the water company in Newmarket – a town the business has chosen to pilot and develop new innovation.

The agency has been chosen to bring to life the initiative and drive concrete consumer behaviour change in this pilot. It is hoped that the project will become a successful blueprint for consumer water saving that can be rolled out nationally.

Reviews

Domino's has kicked off a CRM and digital review as it hunts for an agency to replace Iris, which has terminated its contract having won KFC's digital business. When contacted by The Drum, the brand had no comment on the matter.

Launches

M&C Saatchi is launching its latest office in Mexico City. Alvaro Dopico, chief executive officer, and Manolo Techera, chief creative officer, are the two equity partners at M&C Saatchi Chilanga. They join the M&C Saatchi network from the highly awarded Marcel and prior to that, JWT. Manolo has been president of the Creative Circle and has served on Cannes Lions juries.

M&C Saatchi believes in having as few offices as necessary, in line with its ‘Brutal Simplicity of Thought’ philosophy. The goal is to have offices in all major territories and geographies. Mexico, with its status as a top 20 in global advertising spend, achieves this goal for the network and brings the total to 26.

Acquisition

WPP’s marketing agency VML will expand with the addition of Rockfish Digital. Rockfish will join VML – combining the strengths of lead agency VML with the extensive history of innovation and ecommerce at Rockfish.

Founded in 2005, Rockfish has offices in New York, Chicago, Dallas, Cincinnati, Northwest Arkansas and Minneapolis. The agency client list includes Walmart, Mars, Southwest Airlines and MetroPCS. For years, VML and Rockfish have partnered together across clients including Colgate-Palmolive, Ford and Kimberly-Clark.
