Facebook’s Watch is debuting an eight-episode documentary series about Real Madrid
Facebook’s newly launched video platform Watch is debuting an eight-episode show called Hala Madrid that will give fans of Real Madrid a chance to check out never-before-seen footage of the players, coaches, facilities and fans.
The documentary series, narrated by actor Orlando Bloom, was shot in partnership with GoPro last year. According to Real Madrid, “viewers will get a 360-degree view of the organization, including closer looks at its storied history, pristine training facilities, star power on the pitch and loyal fan base across the globe.”
The first two episodes are available on Facebook’s Watch for people in the US and on the Hala Madrid show page globally. New episodes will be available on Saturdays beginning Sept. 9.
"With this new show on Watch, our passionate community of Real Madrid fans on Facebook will have an opportunity to view something very special," said Rafael de los Santos, global digital director for Real Madrid, in a statement. “We believe this series will not only resonate with these Real Madrid fans, but will also be interesting to the millions of people around the world who consume content on Facebook.”
Facebook’s Watch, which was unveiled earlier this month, is hosting a variety of episodic, original shows as the social media giant aims to compete with the likes of YouTube.
