This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below.

EMEA people are on the move

Refinery29

Refinery29 has expanded its sales team with the appointment of Shortlist Media's former beauty director Jessica Pennington as sales and partnerships director.

Pennington will be working with Refinery29 UK’s in-house editorial and social teams, with a strong focus on beauty category growth and revenue.

Diageo

Leila Fataar, Diageo’s first – and now former – head of culture and entertainment for Europe, has a lot to say about the state of modern marketing.

Fataar has taken the decision to fix these problems by leaving her (presumably comfortable) role at Diageo to launch Platform 13.

The Telegraph

The Telegraph has announced three appointments to bolster its senior team.

Rob Owers is joining as director of video content in the hope to renew the video's strategy. Jasper Fulcher will join as Snapchat editor to work with a team to create and build The Telegraph's presence on the social media app. And finally Mike Wright will join as head of trending content to bring his social media expertise to build the brands presence across all platforms.

APAC people on the move

Ogilvy & Mather

Benoit Wiesser has been promoted to chief strategy officer Asia after 14 years in the agency, where he will succeed Paul Matheson.

Wiesser will continue to lead innovation and integration of Ogilvy’s breadth of strategic capabilities as a market-leading and modern marketing offer.

Xaxis

Xaxis has appointed Richard Pollin to the role of vice president of client development in Asia Pacific, where he will lead new business acquisition and development across the region including the management of current client accounts from Singapore.

Pollin moves back to Singapore where he previously close to two years working for Google and AppNexus.

CtrlShift

The audience solutions company has tapped Apichakris Kalambasuta, better known as Kris, as director of business development to lead the delivery of CtrlShift’s solutions-oriented model.

Kris, who moves from Sizmek, will continue to be based in Thailand and report to Oussamon Sathaworawong (Poom), the current director of business development and operational head of CtrlShift Thailand.

USA People on the move

Pandora

Pandora Media has named Roger Lynch, the founding chief executive of Sling TV, as its new chief executive.

Lynch will replace Tim Westergren, Pandora’s co-founder who left in June as part of a plan to “refocus” the online radio company.

Michael Lynton, chairman of Snap and former head of Sony Pictures, will also join Pandora's board.

Civilized

Former Playboy executive Cory Jones has joined Civilized as chief content officer.

Jones will use the experience he gained from Playboy where he built the brand post-nudity, to work to build Civilized's content and social strategies.

SiriusXM

SiriusXM appointed Mike Connolly, most recently VP of advertising sales & affiliate sales for ESPN Audio Network, as its new head of advertising sales.

Connolly will oversee SiriusXM’s ad sales efforts across its the company's lineup of channels that take advertising, which includes entertainment, news, comedy and sports. He will report to Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM’s president and chief content officer.

DailyMailTV

Jesse Palmer, former NFL Quarterback, is set to host DailyMailTV, the new daily syndicated series from Stage 29 Productions and DailyMail.com, which will launch across the United States on 18 September.

Palmer joins DailyMailTV from ABC News where he is a special contributor for Good Morning America. He is also an analyst for ESPN, a role he will continue while hosting DailyMailTV.

Development Counsellors International

Development Counsellors International (DCI), an economic development and travel marketing company, recently announced the promotion of Steve Duncan to vice president.

Steve joined DCI in 2004 as an intern for the economic development marketing team, and after nearly 13 years with the agency, he worked his way into the role of vice president this month. He will be based in DCI's Denver office.

The1stMovement

Digital agency The1stMovement (T1M), with offices spanning from LA to Denver to Hong Kong, has welcomed longtime agency executive Jeffrey Dumo as its new vice president of partnerships and strategy.

FCB Chicago

FCB Chicago has appointed Jenina Nuñez as the agency’s new director of communications. Nuñez brings more than ten years of experience to the agency.

She held a variety of roles at the McDonald’s Corporation, most recently serving as the manager of US marketing – field communications and alignment.

DDB New York

DDB New York has appointed two new executives, adding Hannah Meium as director of content, and Rocky Probst as senior social media strategist. Both will report to Reema Mitra, group director of digital strategy, and will work on clients such as State Farm, Unilever and Cotton.

Meium joins DDB New York from Mashable where she spent two years as director of branded content, overseeing the creative, multi-platform work for brand partners. Probst brings five years’ experience in social media marketing and joins from Huge.

PebblePost

Programmatic direct mail company PebblePost has announced the announced the appointment of BuzzFeed president Greg Coleman to its board of directors. The company has also hired Geoff Dodge as chief growth officer and Fergus Mellon as general manager, European market strategy.

Coleman joins PebblePost’s board as a veteran in the advertising and media space. He previously served as president of Criteo, in addition to president and chief revenue officer at Huffington Post and executive vice president of global sales at Yahoo.
