Microsoft has sold in excess of 26m Xbox One consoles, opening up a vast slew of hardware that the music-streaming service can now operate on.

In 34 markets the service is available to both free and premium users. Furthermore, users can create personalised soundtracks for each game, elevating how much input players have with their favourite titles.

Mikael Ericsson, product director, platform and partner experience at Spotify, said: "Music continues to be essential when creating the ultimate gaming experience.

"Starting today, we’re really excited to offer Xbox One gamers the ability to choose their own unique soundtrack while enjoying their favourite games."
