This week has seen another wave of appointments and departures at brands, media owners and agencies. The Drum has rounded up the key moves from the EMEA, APAC and North America regions below.

EMEA people are on the move

Vogue

British Vogue has been enlisting fashion industry members as contributors in the run up to new editor Edward Enninful officially joining the publisher on 1 August.

At the beginning of July the fashion magazine named supermodels Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss, and filmmaker Steve McQueen, as contributing editors, as well as luring back former Vogue creative director Grace Coddington as a contributor.

This week it named makeup artist Pat McGrath as beauty editor-at-large. Her team of contributors will include fellow celebrity makeup artists Guido Palau, Sam McKnight, Charlotte Tilbury and Val Garland.

Meanwhile, model, activist and street style star Adwoa Aboah will join as contributing editor.

Trinity Mirror

Trinity Mirror has shaken up its leadership team with the promotion of Mike Pennington to the newly created role of regionals revenue director, extending his remit from the north east to oversight of all regions.

The publisher has also appointed Sarah Pullen as commercial director, a role which she will carry out alongside her present duties as managing director for the south west region.

The announcements follow the departure of regional newspaper head Rachel Addison’s amid a wider review of the publisher's regional commercial strategy.

Primesight

Primesight has promoted Mungo Knott, the current marketing and insight director, to the new role of director of insight and innovation. In this new role, Knott will focus on maximising the use of technology and data across the Primesight estate.

Meanwhile Sarah Parkes, who is currently managing director of airports, has been named as the director of development and operations, to replace Terry Dyer who is departing the business as the end of the year.

Acceleration Partners

Affiliate marketing business Acceleration Partners, has opened in the UK with Helen Southgate, former managing director of affilinet. Southgate will head operations in the UK and Europe, serving as managing director.

Central Hall Westminster

Anna Glazebrook has joined Central Hall Westminster as head of marketing. Just was previously at the Royal Society of Medicine where she ran online marketing across its 1 Wimpole Street, Chandos House and RSM Club locations

Communicator

Jason Andrews has been appointed creative partner at digital agency Communicator to bolster the senior team having previously led the creative department at Rapp London.

TBWA/London

Peter Souter, chairman of TBWA\London, has taken on additional responsibilities as a global creative director, working with CEO Troy Ruhanen and CCO Chris Garbutt on a number of initiatives in the UK and Europe, including key global accounts, new business, and they agency's training and development programs.

Media iQ

Media iQ, the analytics and technology company, has appointed Rebecca Mahony as chief marketing officer.

Mahony most recently served in the same role for Teads, where she was responsible for marketing and communication initiatives across EMEA, the Americas, and APAC.

She joins the company’s board as the first female board member. Mahony will also serve as a board sponsor for WiQ - a Media IQ initiative that aims to promote diversity in the workplace.

WPP

WPP’s The&Partnership has tapped Havas global creative director Andre Moreira to lead the creative output for Team Toyota, the network set up on the back of the £240m business moving to the agency last year.

The agency group set up the dedicated division inside Toyota office last year, having set up the same model for News UK and TalkTalk. It saw the company’s creative, media, digital, content and data analytics for the Toyota brand and Lexus consolidated across 16 European markets.

WRG

Experiential agency WRG has appointed Paul Martin as creative director, the first senior hire the since the agency and its owner, The Creative Engagement Group, was acquired by Huntsworth Group earlier this month.

Martin joins from events agency Innovision and will be based in WRG’s London office and lead the creative team, responsible for overseeing all creative output. He will begin his new role next month.

Dark Horses

Dark Horses, the sports marketing agency launched last year in partnership with Lucky Generals, has hired Steve Munachen as its first creative partner.

Munachen , formerly creative director of Pitch Marketing Group, will be working with Dark Horses existing clients including DHL rugby, Wiggle, Chain Reaction, Yorkshire Tea and Southampton FC.

“This is the start of something fun. I joined Dark Horses to work alongside some of the greatest minds in the creative industry, and we're planning to do things a little differently from every other sports agency out there,” he said.

TBWA/London

TBWA\London recently appointed of Saatchi executive creative director Andy Jex and MullenLowe planning chief Anna Vogt as its new chief creative officer and chief strategy officer team.

The duo is slated to start together in October with the somewhat broad brief of re-energizing the creative agency in London.

Social Chain

Social media marketing agency Social Chain has promoted Katy Leeson to managing director and Alex Ayin to group business director.

Leeson joined Social Chain in 2016 as operations director, overseeing the agency’s growth from 30 individuals to a team of over 100. Meanwhile, Ayin, promoted from business director, will work alongside Social Chain’s co-founders as it looks to rapidly scale over the next two years.

Pizza Hut

Pizza Hut Europe & UK has appointed a new marketing lead to its European and UK businesses.

Stephan Croix, previously vice president of marketing for Europe, Africa & the Middle East at Starwood Hotels, has joined Pizza Hut Europe & UK as chief sales and brand officer.

Croix will report into Raphael Miolane, managing director at Pizza Hut Europe & UK and will sit on the European leadership team.

He replaces Adrienne Berkes who has moved back to California to work at Taco Bell, also part of Yum! Brands which includes Pizza Hut, KFC and Taco Bell.

APAC people on the move

MediaMath

MediaMath, a programmatic company for marketers has appointed Pranjal Desai as country manager, India.

Pranjal Desai was previously an associate director for the ad sales team at Flipkart. Prior to Flipkart, Desai was managing Oomph Australia’s key accounts, including Australia’s largest publishing houses and media agencies.

NewCo

NewCo, the newly combined entity formed from MEC and Maxus, has appointed Ajay Gupte as managing director of its Indonesia office.

Gupte was previously managing director at MEC Indonesia and had been in that role since 2011.

AOI Pro

AOI Pro has named Shohei Sawa the new President of AOI Asia Thailand, the Thai branch of AOI Asia, which handles advertising content production in the Greater Asian market.

He had previously worked at IMJ Entertainment, Fields Corporation its subsidiary Tsuburaya Productions, where Sawa popularized and monetized Ultraman in Indonesia.

The Drum

The Drum has expanded its headcount in Asia Pacific, hiring commercial and editorial staff for its regional headquarters in Singapore.

Senior business development manager Gavin Floyd moves to Singapore from The Drum’s home in Glasgow. He is the first commercial hire for the Asia Pacific business and has been moved to build commercial support for The Drum, as well as for upcoming special projects such as the Singapore Creative Cities print supplement and The Drum Digital Trading Awards Asia Pacific.

USA People on the move

Media IQ

The global analytics and technology company Media iQ has announced the appointment of Rebecca Mahony as chief marketing officer (CMO), as well as the relocation of chief operating officer Paul Silver to New York from its London headquarters.

Mahony, who will also be joining the board as the company's first female board member is tasked with developing and establishing Media IQ's brand identity along with an ongoing focus on the customer journey.

Rainbow

Roi Carthy has left his role as marketing chief of adblocking outfit turned ad verification service Rainbow, aka Shine Technologies, to join Singulariteam, an Israel-based investment fund operating in the emerging cryptocurrency and blockchain sectors.

Since 2014, Carthy (who was named CMO of the year by The Drum in 2015) has earned himself a reputation as an agent provocateur in the digital media sector, as the outspoken marketing chief of Rainbow – an outfit that partnered with mobile operators to block ads at a network level.

22square

Independent agency 22squared has promoted Brandon Murphy to president.

Richard Ward, who has served as president and chief executive of 22squared since 2006, will now shift into the role of chairman. He will retain the title of chief executive.

Possible

On the heels of the notice that chief executive Shane Atchison and Americas president Jason Burby will be exiting the agency for Domo, Possible has announced that Joe Crump has been appointed managing director of the New York office.

In his new role, Crump will oversee all client relations, delivery and business operations for the Possible New York office.

The 4A's

The 4As has appointed Keesha Jean-Baptiste as senior vice president to lead the talent and inclusion practice.

In addition to further developing the agencies strategic planning, she will also support member agencies on diversity and inclusion within recruitment, professional develoment, leadership and management.
