Clemenger Group has taken a majority investment in the agency, which specialises in customer experience, insight-led strategy and data-driven decision making.

Perceptive, which was founded in 2005, position the business as a “customer intelligence” agency with a hybrid mix of talent and technology.

Clemenger Group said the acquisition was “a critical strategic priority” as it seeks to expand the group’s capabilities in data-driven marketing.

Earlier this year, Clemenger Group merged the Clemenger BBDO, Touchcast and Proximity agencies into one shop, Clemenger BBDO / Touchcast, with capabilities in digital, data, direct/CRM, customer experience, advertising and retail. The agency recently produced the 'Give Nothing to Racism' campaign for NZ Human Rights Commission.

Jim Moser, CEO of Clemenger Group New Zealand, said Perceptive’s capabilities in technology and their skills in measuring customer engagement and NPS had been key elements behind the deal.

“Our values are aligned, our cultures are aligned, our business aspirations are aligned, and together, we can now provide our clients with unmatched capability across the marketing services spectrum,” said Moser.

Perceptive founder and CEO, Chris Pescott said the acquisition was “the logical next step” for the business. “I believe the complementary nature of Perceptive, and the rest of the Clemenger Group agencies, will offer clients a unique and harmonious blend of insight and creative, which has never truly existed in the New Zealand market.”

Clemenger Group is New Zealand’s largest marketing services company and includes Colenso BBDO, OMD, PHD, 99, Porter Novelli, Creative Activation, Raydar, BrandWorld, JustOne, and Dynamo.
