The Times of India appoints J Walter Thompson as creative partner

J Walter Thompson has been appointed to handle the creative side of The Times of India (TOI), winning the deal following a multi-agency pitch.

The primary task of the appointment will be a rebrand of Times of India (TOI), as well as ongoing offline and online advertising creative.

Earlier, The Drum spoke with global chief executive of J. Walter Thompson who highlighed the role that experiential marketing is set to play and the importance of using product technology to tell a story.

Sanjeev Bhargava, director of brand at TOI, said; “The strategic thinking that J Walter Thompson has contributed to business building coupled with a multi city high powered creative and servicing capability is what has made them the best choice for us. I am hoping for great work to come from this partnership.”

The agency which will work from New Delhi will handle all mainline advertising and services including the digital mandate for TOI by being its strategic and creative partner.
