According to the Manchester-based social marketing agency, which also has offices in London and Berlin, Social Chain’s 12-person team in the US will work with clients including Atlantic Records, Glasses USA, Kiss Cosmetics, Naked Wardrobe, Prps, Olive Garden and HSN.

Sam Budd, who was recently appointed managing director, will oversee Social Chain’s overseas expansion. Previously, Budd served as global commercial director of the agency.

“It’s extremely exciting that the US is now our fastest growing market. We plan on putting a great deal of focus and some of our strongest talent behind it to accelerate,” said Steve Bartlett, co-founder and CEO of Social Chain, in a statement. “Myself, Dom McGregor [co-founder] and the board, are really excited by the energy and experience that Sam will bring to the table with the US and look forward to continuing Social Chain’s global expansion. We already have our eyes set on LA in 2018.“

Social Chain was co-founded by Bartlett and McGregor in 2014 while the two were still students.

Earlier this year, the agency created an April Fool’s campaign for Glasses USA. According to Social Chain, the ‘TruSkin Invisible Glasses’ stunt “not only went viral, but generated a plethora of organic coverage, clocked up millions of views, and drove 10’s of thousands of site visits in 24 hours.”
