The Marketing Forum, annually held on a cruise ship and cheekily nicknamed by several in the industry over the years as The Love Boat, is to set sail for the final time this year, with organizers Richmond Events choosing to relocate it to a hotel.

From 2018, the annual industry event connecting agencies and marketers will move to The Grove Hotel in Hertfordshire after a quarter of a century of sailing around the Channel Islands each Autumn over a three day period.

Last year, the event hosted marketers from brands including British Gas, Facebook and ISBA and The Drum was a key partner.

"In today’s world we recognise it’s becoming ever more difficult for marketers to leave the office for three days. Whilst the ships have been an excellent venue over the years, the communications, specifically wi-fi are not up to modern business standards. And finally, the success of our sister event The Digital Marketing Forum - It takes place every March at The Grove in Hertfordshire and sells out year on year, with excellent feedback on both the format and the venue," explained David Clarke, project manager for Richmond Events.

Instead the event will take place in November next year for a day and half instead.
