Apple picks up new bedfellow with acquisition of sleep tracking specialists Beddit

Confirming the takeover on its website Beddit sought to reassure its customers by confirming that their personal data ‘will be collected, used and disclosed in accordance with the Apple Privacy Policy.’

Beddit is no stranger to Apple having offered its range of sleep tracking hardware and software for sale in Apple stores since late 2015, evidently furnishing its new masters with first-hand data on how popular its gadgets could be.

The Finnish company is best known for producing a strip of sensors which can be laid on top of your mattress to record a range of sleep related data such as duration, movement, heart rate, respiration, temperature, snoring, room temperature, and room humidity.

Despite the takeover Beddit’s existing website is expected to remain unaffected for the time being.
