Howells was one of the founders of Edinburgh ad agency Newhaven before migrating to the Leith Agency prior to its acquisition. He will serve as group creative director in his latest role, joining chief operations officer Paul Marrin and designer Katie Winter as the latest additions to its payroll.

Creative director Andy Kilburn commented: “With growth in the US and in other parts of the globe, we actually have very few clients here in the North East and that’s something we’re determined to change.

“It feels like such an exciting time to be a part of what is a fantastic creative and digital scene here in the North East. We want to be a part of that and want to work with more people in this region.”

Double Concentrate have just moved into new offices at The Toffee Factory in order to accommodate recent business growth, including recent client wins such as New York based tech specialists Mobicast and Norwegian broadcast company Vimond.

Howells is set to become a regular on GNER services between Newcastle and Edinburgh for his latest posting, bringing a wealth of creative experience in serving clients such as Irn-Bru, Tennent’s Lager and Skyscanner in the process.

Howells left the Leith Agency in 2013 having spent just 11 months behind the desk there.
