The Lighthouse company poaches PHD UK chief executive Daren Rubins

Rubins has been at PHD for 17 years, prior to which he was planning director at Mediavest and group account director at Mediacom. He will be succeeded at PHD by the agency’s current managing director, Verica Djurdjevic.

In his new position he will look to build upon the headhunting firm's consultancy offering, with his remit including board advisory and leadership structures, benchmarking as well as talent acquisition and retention.

He will work alongside the company's current chief executive Kathleen Saxton, who will continue in her capacity as founder of both The Lighthouse Company and Psyched, the leadership development firm she co-founded with psychotherapist Ben McKie in 2016.

"Leaving PHD is the one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do and I’m so proud of everything that we’ve achieved. But my proudest achievement is the legacy of amazing talent, which is why this new role is so appealing to me," said Rubins.

Saxton added: "Leading the business in partnership with someone of Daren’s calibre and experience is an opportunity I am relishing, while the entire team is delighted by the prospect of working with someone who fully embodies the leadership qualities, vision and character we most value in the talent that we represent."
