BT Group has appointed Wunderman UK as its lead direct marketing and customer engagement agency for its BT and EE brands. Wunderman takes over from incumbent agencies OgilvyOne and Chemistry. OgilvyOne won BT’s direct marketing account in 2001, later securing the digital account for its business division in 2009. Chemistry was appointed as EE’s direct marketing business in 2012.

BT launched a review of its direct marketing and engagement account in August last year following the completion of its £12.5bn acquisition of mobile phone network EE.

Meanwhile EE awarded creative agency Now with its strategic and above the line creative account, consolidating the B2B account into a single agency.

Uber, the ride-hailing app, appointed OMD to its international media account after a competitive pitch. OMD will also handle media in the UK, Russia, France, Italy, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana, South Africa, Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Poland and Ukraine.

Sony has selected AKA Asia as its agency of record for both Sony Mobile Singapore and Sony Electronics Singapore after an open tender in Q4 2016 that saw 28 agencies respond. Work will commence with Sony Mobile for PR with immediate effect, while scopes for Sony Mobile Social and Sony Electronics PR will kickstart from 1 March.

Burton’s Biscuit Company – the parent company of brands including Jammie Dodgers, Maryland Cookies, and Wagon Wheels – has appointed creative agency 101 and BrandOpus to its agency roster. 101 will be lead creative partner while BrandOpus will look after strategic design, working across all of the Burton’s Biscuit Company’s portfolio.

Rovio, creator of Angry Birds, has appointed Brand & Deliver to secure worldwide brand partnerships throughout 2017 and 2018. Brand & Deliver will build on the Angry Birds franchise, offering a multi-platform solution for partners including the use of IPs in marcomms, as well as media exposure within the Rovio games portfolio and their Toons.tv online platform.

Designer Roland Mouret has appointed The Fashion Digital as the label’s social media agency. The Fashion Digital will work with Roland Mouret to shape the brand’s social media identity across multiple platforms.

Pesto brand Sacla’ has appointed Digital Natives as its digital agency partner.

LA-based digital advertising agency Modop has announced a new partnership with the Agency for Professional Esports, a talent agency for professional eSports players. Under the new partnership, Modop will utilize APE's client roster to facilitate brand activations and create engaging campaigns that expand brands’ messaging and outreach to the audiences of eSports influencers.
