Sainsbury’s 22-year partnership with PHD has come to a close as WPP and The&Partnership’s joint project m/SIX has seized its media account.
Campaign reports that the account, worth up to £100m, was put up for review in secrecy following the retailer’s takeover of Argos, via the £1.4bn acquisition of Home Retail Group in 2016.
The retailer is making a habit of breaking away from long-time partners, it ended a 35-year relationship with AMV BBDO last year. It instead opted for the services of Wieden + Kennedy.
