Mok replaces Richard Tan, who leaves the role after seven years. He will be responsible for driving growth for DDB’s business across China as it looks to accelerate its position in the market.

David Tang, CEO of DDB Asia said: “Richard has built DDB China Group into what it is today - ranked as a top five agency in China, attracting strong talent and businesses across Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou. Danny will add new momentum, fresh talent and best practices to our DDB China offices, which has been earmarked as our most important market for growth in Asia.”

Mok spent two years as chief executive at Leo Burnett overseeing the agency's offices in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou. Prior to this, he was CMO at Hong Kong mobile communications company CSL Limited, which owns the Sun Mobile, 1O1O and csl brands.

His previous roles include CEO of Grey Shanghai and Hong Kong, and deputy general manager at BBDO Hong Kong.

Mok’s appointment coincides with two new hires at DDB China Group. Matthew Cheng joins from Leo Burnett to become general manager of National business development at DDB China Group, and Lawrence Li joins from McCann Erickson as general manager of the local business unit at DDB Shanghai.
