Tara DeVeaux rejoins BBDO New York as chief marketing officer

Tara DeVeaux is rejoining BBDO New York to fill the role of chief marketing officer after a three-year stint as president of Ming Utility and Entertainment Group.

Before joining Ming Utility and Entertainment Group, she spent nearly seven years at BBDO as senior account director. While DeVeaux is not directly replacing anyone, she will take on the responsibilities of director of business development Crystal Rix. Rix has been promoted to the newly created role of chief strategy officer.

Aside from driving business growth at the agency, DeVeaux will also be tasked with optimizing its marketing service offerings. She will report to BBDO New York CEO John Osborn.

A big part of Tara’s role will be to ensure visibility into the innovation and groundbreaking work being done across the agency’s diverse client base. And while her focus will be on BBDO New York, she’ll also be a bridge to our BBDO agencies in North America.”

As chief strategy officer, Rix will be responsible for overseeing the agency’s consolidated strategic practice, which includes communications planning and data and marketing science. Rix has been with BBDO for nearly ten years.

According to the agency, both appointments are “reflective of the ongoing transformation that has taken place at BBDO New York over the past year as the agency bolsters its specialist data and analytic capabilities and communications planning practice.”
