Twitter reacts to unexpected Paris Hilton and Lidl collaboration
It’s fair to say 2016 has been full of surprises. First there was Brexit, then Donald Trump, and now Lidl has lived up to its #Lidlsurprises positioning after socialite Paris Hilton announced a haircare collaboration with the budget retailer.
Hilton posted a tweet on Tuesday (20 December) announcing the collection, which includes pink hairdryers, straighteners, curlers and brushes.
I‘m excited to share my new collection from @lidl with you! Be the first to get it: @lidl #HereComesParis #Hair #BTS #Blonde #Beauty pic.twitter.com/a1YYX8jub3

Needless to say, the news was met with a mixture of bewilderment and curiosity.

A Lidl spokesperson told The Drum that the collection went on sale on 11 December and has almost sold out. It’s not the first time Lidl has collaborated with a Hollywood celebrity. It inked a similar deal with Britney Spears in 2014, when the singer also released a haircare range with the German retailer.
