The holidays are a feel good time of year, and there’s nothing better to give you the warm fuzzies than some fuzzy creatures.

For the holiday season, Freshpet, a fresh and all-natural pet food company, and The Humane Society have teamed up to give some very deserving shelter animals a Christmas feast, with a video that spotlights the need for all animals to be loved and find a happy family and home through adoption.

The video, “30 Homeless Pets and 1 Holiday Feast,” was created by social content studio Shareability, and aims to shine a positive light on shelter animals and show that shelters across the US are full of loving pets in need of a second chance.

The video certainly tugs plenty of heartstrings, highlighting dogs like Eva, a sweater-wearing cattle dog who has no eyes but lots of heart, and Daisy, the tripod poodle who is missing a front leg.

It also tells the story of Teddy, a neglected dog who came in with matted fur, long nails and was not in good shape. With lots of love and grooming, Teddy has been transformed into a super happy terrier. We then get to see a bunch of these shelter dogs and cats get fed an elaborate meal of Freshpet foods in a festive holiday setting.

The great news is, some of the animals even found new homes the night of their big feast. And to top it off, Freshpet is giving away meals every time the video is shared.

"First and foremost we wanted this event to be for the pets,” said Karina Delaine from Freshpet. “We wanted them to stretch out of their usual kennel space and really have a special day where they felt loved. This was also an opportunity to shine some light on how unique these animals really are, and how much they need support and of course loving homes. We also wanted to provide a healthy and fresh meal to pets in need, so we’ve committed to giving away one Freshpet meal up to 10,000 meals for every video share!"

If viewers want more, they can watch a behind-the-scenes video that shows how the event came together and the people behind the scenes of this successful event.

"We’re so excited by the results of our collaboration with longtime client FreshPet. Working with animals is always a challenge - and all the more rewarding when it results in Shareable content with a strong positive message. We hope it inspires lots of adoptions,” said Erick Brownstein, partner and chief strategy officer at Shareability.
