Seattle-based branded content studio Workhouse Creative recently signed director Cali Bondad to its index of directors for exclusive US commercial representation. Bondad immediately started working for the studio, directing and a production for Georgia Power that will be released in 2017.

Bondad was previously a director and editor at Mekanism’s production arm Sister, where she worked on a range of content, including broadcast commercials, music videos, and films. Her most recent project includes an upcoming White House PSA for the “It’s On Us” campaign and she has directed and edited live-action content for brands including The North Face, Muscle Milk, Ralph Lauren, Ben & Jerry’s, and Nordstrom Rack.

“Workhouse Creative really stood out to me because of its breadth of content and alliance of active, driven directors,” said Bondad. “I knew from the first phone call that this was a special team of people and I wanted to be a part of it.”

Her work has been praised for its sense of framing and rhythm, and Bondad’s 2016 short documentary, “Our Voices Are Rarely Heard,” was recognized for a number of accolades including Editor's Pick for both The Atlantic and Slate Magazine, Vimeo Staff Pick, second place in the Humanitarian Film Festival, and was eventually displayed at the International Committee of the Red Cross Convention in Geneva.

“Cali has an inherent storytelling ability that has derived from her experience as an editor,” said Keith Rivers, founder and director of Workhouse Creative. “She's a gritty storyteller with an unconsciously optimistic frame of mind, which makes her a perfect fit for Workhouse Creative. We're excited to include her onto our roster.”
