United Talent Agency (UTA), a top global talent and literary agency, has announced the hiring of two new digital team members, Michael Ohene-Djan and Jamie Leeming, to join its growing digital media portfolio in London.

UTA represent some of the biggest global superstars and the agency has seen an increasing demand for pop stars to have a digital presence. Ohene-Djan and Leeming are the first digital executives to join UTA’s London office, where they will focus on creating and implementing strategies to support established and emerging UTA clients – with a particular focus on music artists – across a wide range of services, including social and digital marketing and brand partnerships.

Ohene-Djan spent the past six years at Facebook’s UK office, first in the social media company’s Global Marketing Solutions group where he worked with large brand advertisers, and most recently as one of their top partnership managers, working with UK-based media companies and artists. Ohene-Djan brokered the Facebook partnerships with both 2016 X Factor and the 2015 Glastonbury festival, structured The Royal Family’s first-ever Facebook Live which saw HRH Prince Harry broadcast himself taking an HIV test to spread awareness of getting tested.

Leeming joins UTA from Capitol Records (Universal Music Group) where he spent the past three years as one of the company’s two UK-based digital marketing executives where he crafted strategies to help artists such as Sam Smith and 5 Seconds Of Summer derive new social platform-based revenue streams, create innovative digital marketing campaigns and utilize best practices to connect more directly with their fans.

“Helping our artists navigate in a disrupted media environment requires more innovation than ever before. Michael and Jamie bring the right experience and entrepreneurial spirit to help our clients succeed. We welcome them to the UTA team in London and look forward to their many contributions,” commented Geoff Meall of UTA.

“Digital is a major part of UTA’s full-service commitment, and we’ve seen incredible results when our digital executives have worked with music artists and clients from all areas of the agency. With Michael and Jamie, we can ensure that our international clients have access to the same day-to-day creativity and expertise,” stated Brent Weinstein, UTA partner and head of digital media.

The addition of Leeming and Ohene-Djan further reflects UTA’s aggressive push in digital media over the past decade.

UTA’s London office was established through UTA’s acquisition of The Agency Group, the world’s largest independent music agency, in August 2015. UTA combined The Agency Group with its existing music practice to form UTA Music, a leading live music representation and booking practice representing established stars such as Mariah Carey, Guns ‘N Roses, Muse, Toby Keith, Chris Brown and David Gilmour to emerging stars G-Eazy, DJ Khaled, Rachel Platten, X Ambassadors, Christine & the Queens, Milky Chance and Chris Janson, among others.

Headquartered in Beverly Hills, UTA also has offices in New York, Nashville, Toronto, Miami and Malmö, Sweden.
