Donald gets the Top Trump treatment: IBM and The Drum use AI to analyse the president-elect's social traits

In order to Top Trump Trump The Drum used artificial intelligence to grant a definitive score of the real estate mogul's online marketing traits. The experiment follows on from The Drum's original Top Trump Super Marketers online game which was created as part of our special AI issue guest-edited by IBM's Watson earlier this year.

The game provides scores for five personality traits including: cheerfulness, assertiveness, altruism, fieriness, adventurousness as well as an overall score. Players are then given the opportunity to compare their social ratings against similarly ranked individuals.

Trump has been extremely active on Twitter, and as such achieved a high score across the board, attaining an average of 69 out of a possible 100. In terms of cheerfulness the former Apprentice host clocked up a score of 61. He received a high rating for assertiveness at 98, while for altruism he was awarded a score of 96 - a figure that may come as a surprise to his critics. In the final category, fieriness, Trump was presented with a disappointing four out of 100, which may come as a shock to some given his impassioned slights against his rival Hillary Clinton in the run up to the US election.

Separately, The Drum has today (2 December) extended its Super Marketers game to the 300 attendees of the Digital Podge, which each poised to receive individual Top Trump cards produced by Winning Moves.

The data is based on analysis of each player's Twitter profile, and the people deemed with the best trait in each category will receive a special prize at this year's Podge lunch. However, according to editor in chief Gordon Young, there will be special tie breaks created should anybody get the same score.

"The most cheerful person will be asked to tell a joke, or most adventurous a tale of dare and do," explained Young, looking to build competition.

Non attendees of the lunch can also play online, generating a virtual card which may seem them recognised as having the best personality in the business at the end of the year, based on Watson's analysis.
