In this year's season of "The Voice of Germany" on ProSieben and Sat.1, which premiered on October 20th, Philips is one of the major sponsors. They provided their Philips Hue lightbulb technology to enhance the watching experience for viewers. The newly updated "The Voice of Germany" app now has an integrated feature that allows the lighting of the bulbs to change color in accordance to the events on the show.

During the blind auditions, the Philips Hue lightbulbs light up in red as soon as users hit the Home Coach-Buzzer in the app. During the battles, the lighting is synchronized with the lighting on stage. Starting on December 4th, users will be able to favor a team and the bulbs then change color according to the vote. They will either light up in blue, red, orange or yellow. During the live performance shows, the color effects are again consistent with the stage show.

Users of the app and Philips Hue are encouraged to share impressions of their experiences using the hashtag #IWantHue on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter. The "The Voice of Germany" website features a social wall displaying the #IWantHue posts. Additionally, users have the opportunity to win one of three Hue Entertainment packages by answering a question concerning the Philips Hue promotional slogan.

Besides the Philips Hue integration, the app features numerous videos, news and games. Fans can view videos of backstage impressions, interviews and unplugged songs. They can also keep track with news about the contestants, the coaches and the show, listen to some of the blind audition performances or vote for their favorite contestant. The app is available for all iOS and Android devices.
