Sunshine, the London-based boutique creative agency, and its managing director, Nadya Powell have parted ways a year-and-a-half after she joined as the agency aims to concentrate on 'deepening' its work on creating entertainment properties.

It is understood that the former Lost Boys managing director and the agency mutually agreed to end the advertising exec's contract as she aims to continue to concentrate on her passion for digital innovation, which has been her focus through out her career.

Speaking to The Drum, Mel Exon, the recently appointed chief executive of Sunshine who joined from BBH earlier this year, confirmed that Powell was set to leave and wished her well in her future career.

Exon said: "As Sunshine's direction takes us deeper into entertainment properties, Nadya is leaving the company to further build on her heartland, which is digital innovation.

"I want to thank Nadya for what she's done for Sunshine since joining our company 15 months ago. She's helped to drive the growth and stability of Sunshine in London over that period, and we are going to miss her big heart and business brain."

Exon also revealed that at present no timeline had been set out for a new managing director to come on board.

Powell commented: "My year at Sunshine has been incredible. Growing and stabilising the business whilst embedding myself in the world of culture and entertainment. It's time for the next chapter - combining new skills with my passion for digital innovation. I know Mel, Kit, Al and Gideon will have every success in future."

Alongside her work with BIMA, in recent years Powell has also been a driving factor in the Great British Diversity Experiment which began last year.
