Supermarket chain Morrisons is adopting strong arm tactics this Black Friday in an effort to entice the punters through its doors after enlisting in-store strongmen and women to assist shoppers in carting their haul to their car boot.

The grocer is predicting a mad rush from consumers on the day drawn to heavy-duty bargains such as a 5 litre keg of Budvar for £10 and a seven-kilo leg of ham for £28.

While rival chains stick to wonky-wheeled trollies Morrisons will lavish a dedicated personal assistant to do the bag carrying whilst you fumble for the car keys.

Muscle-bound Anthony Donaldson, who weighs in with 10 years in the security industry before joining Morrisons Newlands branch as retail assistant, said: “I used to do a lot of weight training for my former job and those techniques and disciplines are key for everyday lifting tasks. I’ve been practicing my deadlifts and am ready for the week-long work out.’

Customers wishing to avail themselves of the additional manpower should report to the stores customer service desk where a tannoy announcement will be made for their ‘strongperson’ to come to their rescue.

For those who can't be bothered with store visits at all Morrisons recently partnered with Amazon to deliver your food direct to your door in certain areas.
