Zone has appointed Daniel Harvey (second from right).

He joins the agency’s executive team and will have responsibility for a 60-strong creative team with expertise across content, design, user experience and video production. It’s a remit that will see Harvey work closely with Zone’s chief strategy officer Jonathan Simmons and chief technology officer Dominic Mills, all three of whom will report into chief executive Jon Davie.

Of his appointment, Harvey said: “Zone’s independence, ambition and ethics make them rare in the agency landscape. I'm excited by the creative and entrepreneurial opportunities ahead of me. I can't wait to get started working with the content, strategy, and technology teams.”

He spent five years at SapientNitro and prior to that was executive creative director at R/GA in New York.

Harvey’s arrival coincides with the appointment of Melanie Oakley as chief people officer. Her experience at fast-growth businesses such as Pottermore, Wonga and Virgin Radio played a key role in her appointment.

Davie added: “We’re delighted to welcome Daniel to the team. He’s a world-class creative leader with a huge commitment to nurturing talent, and will drive our creative output to the next level.”
