VCCP Sydney hires Paul Sharp as creative director

Sharp has been brought on board to help boost VCCP’s position in Australia as a challenger agency for challenger brands.

He will report into executive creative director Dawson, marking the first time the pair have worked together since they partnered at Clemenger BBDO, then later at Leo Burnett’s.

Dawson, said: “He’s worked on some of Australia’s most iconic brands and has created loved and lauded work both here and in the UK. He has a unique and refreshing take on things, is a great thinker, craftsmen, and an all-round good bloke. As we continue to shape VCCP’s offering, his hiring demonstrates our intent to further build on our positioning as a challenger agency for challenger brands.”

Sharp, added: “As much as I love Monkeys, I also have a soft spot for Meerkats. I’m looking forward to being part of the growing success of VCCP in the region, it certainly feels like a place that’s poised for opportunities, and, of course, it’ll be a pleasure to be working with Mr. Dawson again.”

Sharp worked at The Monkeys for five years, working on campaigns for clients such as UBank, Bingle Car Insurance and MLA, including its Australia Day campaign: Operation Boomerang. Recent work from The Monkeys includes a campaign for StudioCanal and Telstra.
