Fitch buys StartJG in Hong Kong

The customer experience design consultancy has bought StartJG in Hong Kong only, all other StartJG offices remain under the ownership of independent network The Start Group.

Adding the 40-strong agency, the deal takes the number of Fitch studios in Greater China to three, the two others being in Beijing and Shanghai.

StartJG Hong Kong founder Jonathan Cummings and managing director Cally Williams will join the leadership team for South-East Asia and North Asia, led by regional chief executive Andrew Crombie.

Crombie, said:“The Hong Kong team has proven strength in creating powerful brands through deep consumer insight, intelligent strategy and bold design. Their formidable digital talent, combined with Fitch's strategic and 3D design strengths, will significantly add to our growing presence and capability in Greater China and across the region.”

The topic of China and design was a common theme at Spikes Asia this year, with numerous agencies taking stage to unpick the new aesthetics of the country.
