Havas Group has acquired Target Media Communications Group (Target MCG) in a bid to bolster its presence in the entertainment and content markets.

The global communications firm announced today that it has snapped up a 100 per cent stake in the firm, which incorporates Target Media, Target Live, Organic and Superhero.

The lifestyle and media business will be run as part of Havas Media and will retain its name and current brand identity. Founding members – chief executive Rob Wilkerson, and chief operating officer Louise Gaynor – will remain at the helm of the company reporting to the chief executive of Havas Media Group UK and Ireland, Paul Frampton.

Target MCG's revenue clocked in at the £10m region in 2015, and with over 26 years' experience in the business it counts Disney, Netflix, Universal, StudioCanal and Icon Films among its 60-strong client roster.

The company provides integrated multi-discipline services including media planning and buying, search, social, programmatic, marketing, PR, publicity and creative production. Recent work includes marketing campaigns for Asif Kapadia's Amy, and Tom Hardy's Legend.
