The Joseph Rowntree Foundation partners with digital agency Mando on intranet project
The Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF), an independent organisation working to inspire social change through research, policy and practice and registered housing association and care provider The Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust (JRHT), is partnering with award-winning digital agency Mando to bring a new intranet to its team.
JRF/JRHT currently employ around 750 staff working in a variety of professions and locations across Yorkshire and the North East. The charity carries the vision of its famous founder, of a prosperous, poverty-free UK. An effective communication and collaboration platform is essential to support these aims and the organisation’s wide repertoire of work. The new intranet aims to promote inclusivity for all employees with accessibility features supporting and delivering maximum value and engagement.
The intranet development will take place over the coming months and be ready for launch in January 2017. Once launched, users will be able to keep up-to-date with corporate news and policies, quickly access employee benefits, collaborate on document creation, interact with colleagues, use a video sharing platform, and strengthen team communication through tools such as Delve and Yammer.
Jamie Greaves, head of IT and information services at JRF/JRHT, said: “As an organisation we’ve a real focus on staff engagement and a commitment to ensuring we include the entire workforce digitally. It was Mando’s emphasis on the importance of user experience and support during rollout that really struck a chord when we were selecting a development partner.”

Once the new intranet has been rolled out, Mando will support the organisation through adoption, training and support service to allow JRF/JRHT to be self-sufficient as early as possible.
