This year marks the 50th anniversary of Charles Schulz's "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown," which is a timeless classic that children still relate to. That connection was recently illustrated in a short video by independent agency Cramer-Krasselt (C-K) that features 4 and 5-year old children recapping the Great Pumpkin story in a spot for Cedar Fair amusement parks.

When the concept was presented to the client, Cedar Fair — and to Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates, who approved the idea — the children watched the movie at C-K in Chicago before they were filmed and most of them had seen it previously.

The kids are bright and imaginative and describe the Peanuts' story with great seriousness, at times finding it difficult to find the right words. With the Cedar Fair props as a backdrop, the connection between the fair and Peanuts is easy to recognize.

The video will be used on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube throughout the buildup to Halloween events at the park such as The Great Pumpkin Fest. The video will help promote the daytime, kid-friendly Halloween events at Cedar Fair amusement parks. The parks are also changing the name of their daytime Halloween events to “The Great Pumpkin Fest” and showing the Peanuts classic.
