In an effort to invest in digital media, Time Inc. has set it sights on making people laugh.

Through its creative lab and content studio, The Foundry, Time Inc. has joined together with Jash, a digital network and comedy community whose founders include comedians Sarah Silverman and Michael Cera. In this joint-venture, Jash will provide the content, Time Inc. will use its digital media offerings and they will offer the content to the Time Inc. digital audience.

“Time Inc. is excited to offer its clients a new content vertical—comedy. By teaming with Jash, we will provide audiences and advertising partners with even more premium content and creative solutions. Jash and The Foundry will work together to delight and engage audiences,” said Erik Moreno, Executive Vice President of Business Development for Time Inc., in a statement.

Jash will help Time Inc. develop relationships with its community of comedians, as well as its award-winning team including Emmy-nominated comedy producers Daniel Kellison (Jimmy Kimmel Live, Late Show with David Letterman), Doug DeLuca (Jimmy Kimmel Live) and digital video vet Mickey Meyer (Epic Rap Battles).

The 30-person comedy team will work out of The Foundry in Brooklyn that Time Inc. opened last year, as well as Jash’s existing HQ in Los Angeles, according to The New York Post.

“The appetite for smart, premium comedy content is high, especially in the branded world. We’ve seen that reflected in how fast the division has grown at Jash. Together with The Foundry and Time Inc., we’ll deliver this work with brands, at scale, across expanded distribution and media inventory—a triple threat win for our clients,” said Doug DeLuca, Executive Chairman of Jash, in a statement.

This partnership with Jash is similar to the one that Time Inc. announced in March with fashion, beauty, and lifestyle content creator, StyleHaul. Through that partnership the two partnered up as a solution to brands.
