Joining them as a third partner, will be Andy Maher, formerly managing director of FreshMinds and a trouble shooter within the Omnicom network. All of the management team have extensive experience in agency growth, fundraising, corporate finance and M&A.

Stevens has a long history in the industry, having previously qualified with Grant Thornton and worked as a partner at SI Partners and CFO at Iris Worldwide. Welch, who has been a regular contributor to The Drum Network's events and publications, was formerly a partner at Results International and general manager at Digitas (now DigitasLBi), among other high profile agency roles.

The venture will focus as a catalyst for growing and realising value. Working as trusted advisors, Waypoint Partners will provide help, support and challenge to shareholders at every stage of their journey.

“Between the three of us, we have a huge amount of experience in the sector. Having 'walked in your shoes' we have the knowledge – and more importantly, the experience – to integrate into companies and work with founders, board members and the senior management team to deliver real growth and value. Whatever the company objectives – whether it’s growth to become a sector leader or to sell, we make sure you get there in better shape, more attractive and with a higher market value” said Andy Maher.

"We're unique in the market. No one has our depth of experience of both running agencies and our understanding of the M&A market combined. We're able to help agencies grow in the context of what will make them attractive to a future investor or acquirer. We can do the strategy, proposition, growth consultancy, profit build and value realisation all under one roof” said Miles Welch.

“This is the best sector to be involved in. We are passionate about it and the people within. Coming together makes Waypoint even more of an effective catalyst for growth,” said Otto Stevens.

Waypoint Partners is currently working with a number of well-known firms in the marketing, advertising and communications sector, with two major deals expected to be announced in the next few weeks.
