Iris launches Data Apprenticeship Scheme to encouraging more diverse talent into the creative industry

Iris Concise has launched a UK Data Apprenticeship Scheme, as part of a mission to better attract and nurture ‘Creative Data Scientists’, while encouraging more diverse talent into the business.

The consulting, CRM, data and insight business, which is part of iris’ global creative innovation network, is attempting to accelerate the evolution of its data strategy capabilities with the initiative.

Iris is aiming to promote the cause for agencies to better support talent that can grow and exist within the realm of creativity and data but adds that there is a lack of training courses that offer real time experience that bridge the two worlds.

The two year specialist scheme will feature training in analytics, research and digital intelligence skills, delivered by a commercial team of consultants from various backgrounds. The training will provide employees with a holistic business understanding which Iris hopes will allow participants to apply specialist qualifications across diverse business challenges and client opportunities.

“We create an environment where entry level analysts come up against real client challenges, where they can see the value additive effects of data driven strategies - they get to see the context of the business problem and really thrive,” said Will Silverwood, UK managing director at Iris.

“We support them with training and give them guidance to build on their natural strengths, so far, it’s been a real success.”

The apprenticeship is built around tools crucial to ‘Creative Data Scientist’ role, and the wider analytical remit, with advanced training in SQL, Excel and VBA coupled with internationally recognized qualifications in SAS. Iris Concise will also support every individual participant with a tailored career development plan to support in future roles.
