Cedric Gairard, head of production at Johannes Leonardo, has left the agency.

May joins from McCann New York, where she worked on Verizon Wireless as executive producer. In her new role, she will be tasked with growing the agency’s integrated production department while building out fresh capabilities for clients, such as global event activations and virtual reality experiences.

She will report to the agency’s co-founders Jan Jacobs and Leo Premutico as well as its president Bryan Yasko, who joined Johannes Leonardo in March from Droga5.

Johannes Leonardo, which was founded nearly 10 years ago, works with clients including Adidas, Coca-Cola and Google. Jacobs and Premutico founded the agency after working together as executive creative directors at Saatchi & Saatchi. According to the NYC shop, it enjoyed a 40 percent jump in revenue last year and a 27 percent increase in headcount.

“I have been following the epic ideas and executions coming out of Johannes Leonardo for years, and can’t wait to work with some of the industry’s leading talent, while helping contribute to its growth trajectory,” said May in a statement. “It feels like the perfect time to make the move to an agency that I know will keep me feeling inspired and challenged.”

Before joining McCann, May served as head of production at CHI&Partners. Throughout her career, she has freelanced for agencies including Mother, BBH NY and Anomaly. She also previously served as senior producer at Droga5, working with brands including Puma and Unilever.
