Prior to this appointment Wilson was the first European employee for Kaltura where he focused on clients such as Disney, Magix and ITV after starting his career with Limelight networks.

Wilson has spent three years as director of media business development with SpotX, and will now be responsible for monetisation for publishers and broadcasters in the hope to benefit from the growth of programmatic advertising. He said: “This is a critical time in the development of video advertising with a boom in video consumption across all IP-enabled devices coinciding with growing interest in monetisation and increased publisher controls.”

Léon Siotis, managing director UK and Southern Europe at SpotX, said: “Sam Wilson’s experience with broadcasters and contacts and his knowledge garnered from working in the OTT industry for ten years will help drive SpotX’s initiative to provide advanced television monetisation TV opportunities for broadcasters and next generation publishers across all screens and all streams.”

The appointment follows other senior hires for SpotX including Edward Wale as director of platform services.
