Months after Dos Equis bid adieu to its original ‘Most Interesting Man in the World’ by sending him on a one-way trip to Mars, the beer brand has announced that French actor Augustin Legrand is now taking on the role.

While Legrand will star in his first commercial for the beer brand next month, Dos Equis has rolled out a short video featuring the actor to give viewers a glimpse of what he looks like and what sorts of adventures he’ll be going on. According to Dos Equis, the new ‘Most Interesting Man in the World’ is a “rough and tumble guy, who remains a jack-of-all-trades hero that one would expect from the man bearing this infamous title.”

Jonathan Goldsmith, the former ‘Most Interesting Man in the World,’ took on the role in 2006 and starred in his last campaign for the brand earlier this year.

“The meaning of ‘interesting’ has evolved over the past decade, and this campaign features a new character and look and feel that opens the door to a world of interesting possibilities for today’s Dos Equis drinker,” said Andrew Katz, vice president of marketing for Dos Equis, in a statement.

According to the brand, the character’s adventures will “unfold in real time” and fans will “have the opportunity to experience versions of the Most Interesting Man’s latest exploits for themselves, with their friends.”

Created by Havas New York, the new commercial starring Legrand will begin airing on October 19 to align with Dos Equis’ College Football Playoff sponsorship with ESPN. A national lens will also be available on Snapchat on October 22.
