Scottish Creative Awards 2016 Nominations

The annual event is open to any advertising, digital or design agency in Scotland, as well as agencies who have done brilliant work for Scottish clients.

The entries have been whittled down by our esteemed panel of industry luminaries, and leading the shortlist for 2016 is The Union which has 27 nominations across a variety of categories.

The Edinburgh-based agency has been nominated for its 'Moments' work for Worldwide Cancer Research in the Best Website category, up against the likes of Equator Digital, Lewis, Whitespace, Blonde Digital, MadeBrave and Denvir Marketing. Other nominations include work in the Best Online Film, Best Press Ad and Best Retail Ad categories.

Meanwhile, Glasgow creative shop Frame has bagged itself 21 nominations in categories like Best Typography – where it is competing against The Union – and Best Digital/Social Media Strategy, in which it has been nominated for a prize for its 'Big Discoveries' work for the National Museum of Scotland.

Whitespace is shortlisted for a potential 19 gongs, while other consultancies, including STV Creative, The Gate Worldwide and BJL, have also been shortlisted. You can check out the full list of nominations on the Scottish Creative Awards website.

This year, the judging panel was chaired by Tom Richards, chief creative officer at Havas Lynx. Other names on the board included Yandis Ying, creative director at SapientNitro; NickJones head of corporate responsibility and digital communications, Europe Region Visa; Papa John's Andrew Gallagher and Adrian Whatman, Rapp's creative director of design.

"Judging this years Scottish Creative awards was more challenging than previous years, the quality of work was extremely high which always makes the two days of deliberating difficult,"said Whatman, "but along with the rest of the judging panel we found there was a real mix of craft and well thought out ideas, along with some lovely little gems."

Steering clear of the formality of black tie, the results will be announced at a cool and casual event in the recently refurbished St Luke's Church in the East end of Glasgow on Thursday 6 October.

The Scottish Creative Awards are sponsored by Chesterfield Group, Eastern Exhibition & Display and TINT. To find out more information, visit the website.
