Vice Media-owned cable network Viceland is marking its first six months in business by expanding into the late night talk show format with Desus & Mero.

Premiering this October the show aims to deliver a fresh take on current events, culture and day-to-day life as perceived by two Bronx-born friends.

Viceland co-president Eddy Moretti commented: “Just six months in and Viceland is right on track. We gave birth to a completely new brand — a unique voice with 100 percent Vice-produced content, that is attracting a young, smart, affluent audience.

"And today, more people are watching Vice-produced content on every possible screen than ever before. That’s insane, and insanely wonderful. Plus, we got two Emmy nominations out of the gate. It’s a sign that in just these first six months, Viceland is already a cultural player on the televisual dial. We couldn’t be more proud."

Further new content comes in the shape of a newly commissioned series from Tyler, The Creator, which owes its origins to a show on the rapper’s Golf Media App, and Jungletown – an exploration of a sustainable modern town in Panama called Kalu Yala.

The channel will also introduce a second series of Huang’s World with Eddie Huang and States of Undress with writer and model Hailey Gates.
