Dogerati Vote

Last week, The Drum launched a search for marketing's top office dog to mark National Dog Day

After receiving over 120 entries from both sides of the Atlantic, Australia and Asia, we challenged our readers to vote for the cutest canine in the creative and digital industries.

From director of cuddles to head of digital barketing and beyond, some outstanding industry canines were put forward to contest the title. The response was incredible, and now 6000 votes and four days later we finally have a winner.

Scroll down, or check our our Facebook video, to see which pooch has stolen the crown (and our hearts), and remember that every dog has its day, even if it's not a winner.

1. Mr Scruff, canine resources director, Storm ID

Congratulations to the canine resources director at Edinburgh-based digital agency Storm ID, who has been named marketing’s top dog for 2016. Mr Scuff loves sleeping under chair legs, treats and posing for the camera. He even has his own Twitter account, we hope he celebrates with a woofing good party this evening. A very special 'doggy' edition and trophy are on it's way to you!

2. Batman, director of cuddles, Kindred

batman.

Runner-up goes to Batman, who joined Kindred in the newly created role of director of cuddles (DOC) in May this year and settled straight in. His key achievements since joining Kindred include injecting more excitement into brainstorming sessions, impressing clients with his good looks and charm, raising office morale (and quickly learning who to ask for sausages in the company meeting).

3. Clyde, barketing king, M&C Saatchi Mobile

Clyde, barketing king, M&C Saatchi Mobile

M&C Saatchi Mobile's pooch Clyde loves chasing squirrels, he tries to help with pitches but finds it hard to type without thumbs. He is also not afraid to put his paw down when needed: "My subjects know what is expected of them and when they fail to deliver, to the doghouse they go," he said in his nomination.

4. Lupo, chief happiness officer, Percol Coffee

lupo

Lupo is an Italian Greyhound, He's an ice breaker, a confidant, a tension diffuser, a conversation starter according to his workmates, and is the perfect companion when they need to take a break and reset.

5. Bear, bark director, The Mill

bear

Named after Bear Grylls, not because he drinks his own pee but because of his survival skills, Bear toughs it out in the wild world of post-production advertising. When Bear isn't bark directing at commercials, he spends his day waiting on belly rubs from everyone in the office on the ruffest days.

6. Peggy, head of digital barketing, Oban Digital

Peggy puts the ‘prize’ into ‘small to medium enterprise’. As head of operations, her nominee said she “upholds the Oban principles emphasising local, in-market knowledge and linguistic proficiency.”

"When a project arrives requiring work in Caninese, we can trust Peggy to do a full localisation pass sensitive to the needs of the lucrative Dachshund community. Yes, that's a thing".

7. Bailey, chief, relaxation, officer, Ogilvy

Managing paw-tner Arlo is a two-and-a-half year-old Boston Terrier. His remit includes, greeting guests in reception, making sure spilt food is cleaned up right away, participating in security guard shifts and instantly making his colleagues smile as he shows off his ball skills.

9. Lola, head of therapeutic services, Blonde

Lola, head of therapeutic services, Blonde

Lola is excellent at being a paper shredder when she's required. She significantly reduces stress levels and provides a good excuse to have a break from the computer to give belly tickles or to through a ball, according to her work mates. And because of this her colleagues are able to cope better in stressful situations.

10. Panchito, chief barketing officer, Elite SEM

panchito

This two-year-old border collie from Povnan, Poland, may weigh only 50 pounds, but he carries a lot of weight for the Philadelphia office of digital performance agency Elite SEM. In the office every day, Panchito joins every company Hangout and even some client video calls. He's been front and center in many strategy discussions as a result, though his principal function is to lighten the mood.

A big thank you to all the pooches that entered, please keep your eyes peeled for Dogerati 2017.
