From Beyonce's Francesco Scognamiglio dress through to Rita Ora's Marc Jacobs' heels, celebrities sported a host of designer look at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) last night but there was one unlikely name that wanted to steal the red carpet spotlight, Trojan Condoms.

Trojan Condoms hijacked the VMAs via the YouTuber's dress

The contraceptive company asked YouTuber and 'clinical sexologist' Shannon Boodram to don a custom condom dress ahead of the event last last night as part of a bigger push to "spark conversations and reinforce the importance of safe sex".

Designed by Arielle Silva the outfit was part of Trojan's wider influener VMA campaign, which also seen it sponsor several episodes of its 'MTV Guide To...' miniseries produced by Viacom.

The eight-part video campaign was published each week in the run up to the show, and saw Boodram and fellow vlogger Josh Levya highlight the importance of, condom compliance and sexual health, focusing on events like 'The After Party' and other VMA-centric topics.

The VMAs is one of MTV's biggest awards shows, and was the most-talked about event outside of the Super Bowl last year on Twitter.
