"As The Trade Desk continues to grow and expand our programmatic inventory into new channels, I am confident Mark's leadership will stage our clients and the organization for our greatest global successes yet," said The Trade Desk CEO Jeff Green. "Mark has achieved many remarkable milestones over his career and I'm so thrilled he'll be joining our company to play a big role in leading our journey."

Most recently, as CMO at eBay Enterprise, Kirschner successfully delivered tens of thousands of business leads, built out analyst and media relations, and rolled out new brand architecture to simplify a complex portfolio of products and solutions for the $1.4bn company.

Before eBay Enterprise, Kirschner spent eight years as CMO at Rakuten and one of its subsidiaries, leading the global marketing team and executing strategies that increased the client base year-over-year. He has also held marketing leadership roles for the past two decades at companies including Scholastic Internet Group, MTV, Paramount Interactive and NEC Technologies.

"The Trade Desk has been one of the companies to watch in the marketing technology space year after year now, and I'm thrilled to join," said Kirschner. "The success of The Trade Desk's global client base and the impressive growth the company has achieved to date are inspiring. I look forward to strategically driving the company's vision forward alongside the talented team."
