Rapp bolsters creative department with appointment of Andy Barwood

Rapp UK has appointed Andy Barwood as creative partner to help lead the creative output across the agency including its data, technology and media offering.

Barwood will report directly to UK executive creative director, Ben Golik, as they work together to spearhead the creative vision for clients.

Earlier in his career, Barwood was creative partner at Karmarama working with brands such as B&Q, Porsche and Nintendo. Most recently, he was creative partner at Indicia where he led campaigns for Nissan, Majestic and Carluccio’s. Barwood’s experience also spans stints at Crayon London and TMW where he was creative director, as well experience at Ogilvy & Mather and DMB&B in his native South Africa.

Golik said of the appointment: “Andy was the natural choice for this role. His passion and energy for producing genuinely creative and effective work, as well as his hands on approach to motivating those around him, were paramount factors in his hire.”

Discussing his new role, Barwood said: “RAPP’s focus on the customer experience, along with the exceptional talent and expertise found throughout the agency, gives it an unrivaled advantage in the industry. I’m looking forward to working with Ben to create work that we will all be proud of, has a purpose and can’t be ignored.”

Barwood’s awards tally to date lists over 40 recognitions, including a Cannes Lions gold and silver, a D&AD pencil and CLIO silver and bronze awards.
