Smooth handoffs aplenty as #NBCUTorchRelay Twitter stunt nears finish line
NBCUniversal is the exclusive broadcaster of the 2016 Olympics in Rio, and if the company’s social team can successfully pull off its Olympic GIF “torch relay” – which is underway – then they too should be awarded gold medals.

In a highly coordinated effort, a torch emoji is being incorporated in GIFs being posted to the Twitter accounts spanning the NBCU family of networks (from NBC Sports to Bravo) along with some of those networks most popular shows and the accounts of over 50 local channels from Guam to New York. The emoji torch is currently being passed between show and network accounts and will culminate with it being passed to TODAY, when it will be featured in a special Orange Room segment today, August 5.
