Twitter inks deal with Campus Insiders to livestream over 300 college sports games
Twitter has added another partnership to its roster of streaming deals, revealing that more college sports games will now be live-streamed on the platform.
Twitter has inked a deal with Campus Insider
The social giant has inked a deal with publisher Campus Insiders to broadcast over 300 games in real-time, with events like the Mountain West Conference, Patriot League and West Coast Conference, included as part of the deal.
The move bolsters Twitter’s burgeoning catalogue of events it now holds live-streaming rights to, including the NFL’s Thursday games and the NBA pre-game show.
Last week, broadband network Pac-12 announced that it had selected Twitter to live-stream events from school games throughout its own conference during the 2016 to 2017 season, marking the platform's commitment to streaming college sports.
Twitter's latest partnership will see Campus Insiders stream the live college games on the site with an extensive lineup of football, basketball, lacrosse, volleyball and other sports.
In addition to live events, Campus Insiders and the ACC Digital Network will contribute timely video and on-demand clips of game highlights, breaking news and ‘must see moments’ from the top-ranked schools and colleges across the country on Twitter.
"Twitter is the fastest way to see what's happening in sports," said Anthony Noto, Twitter's chief financial officer.
"Our partnership with Campus Insiders will bring live streaming video of college sports directly to the people who are already talking about it on Twitter, all on a single screen."
