Yorkshire-based broadband provider Plusnet has revealed its latest ad campaign positioning itself as a brand that ‘can’t help but be helpful’ by playing on its local roots, a stark contrast to the big budget ads that define its competitors Virgin and Sky.

The new ad will air across national TV channels today (18 July). The ad builds upon the ‘broadband that loves you back’ creative launched by Karmarama last year, the aim of which is to position the brand as the broadband provider that cares.

Plusnet has brought back character ‘Plusnet Joe’, played by actor Craig Murray, to front the ad. Plusnet Joe will be present across all of Plusnet’s direct response marketing channels alongside newspaper, radio, and TV appearances.

James Mahon, director of commercial and marketing at Plusnet, said: "We are excited to continue Plusnet Joe’s story with viewers in our new advert. As the face of our brand, Craig has become an integral part of the Plusnet family.

"Our advert shows Joe through the ages growing up where he can’t help but be helpful as he was made that way. We can’t wait to see people’s reactions to it."
