The league has posted a job ad on LinkedIn for a Snapchat Discover managing editor to help create a “distinguished vision/voice” for the yet-to-launch channel.
The job description reads: “We will look to you to determine the best content execution for each story element (ie video v animation v article). In this role you will coordinate with other departments to leverage content produced for other platforms and optimize for Snapchat.”
NFL is particularly active on other social platforms like Facebook and Twitter, recently announcing plans to stream its Thursday night games on the microblogging site.
If it lands on Discover it will join an exclusive roster of Snapchat media partners including BuzzFeed, Cosmopolitan and Mashable, marking it out as the first big sports player in the arena pipping other leagues like the NBA and the NHL to the post.
