Coca-Cola

Coca-Cola’s global brand PR Judith Snyder (pictured) is set to leave the soft drinks brand to work with startup DesireList and pursue her interest in film-making.

During her career at Coke, where she was based at the headquarters in Atlanta, she oversaw the launch of the memorable Coke Side of Life, Open Happiness, and Taste the Feeling campaigns.

She will become chief marketing officer of DesireList, a site where users can list products they want and desired experiences concerts, restaurants they want to dine at and vacations - with the idea that the list can be shared, shopped and viewed, making gifting, and influencing, all the more easy.

Facebook

Facebook has hired former Google Fiber manager Kevin Lo, to help it push ahead with its vision of providing internet access to more people around the world.

Lo will undertake the role of director of infrastructure connectivity and, investments and according to Re/code, will be tasked with handling the social giant's external partnerships around these offerings.

Facebook has been clear that it doesn't want to become an internet service provider like Google Fiber, and Lo will instead manage deals like the platform's trans-Atlantic fiber-optic cable partnership it recently inked with Microsoft.

The Design Council

The Design Council has appointed Brand Union's worldwide chairman Terry Tyrrell as its chairman after the retirement of Martin Temple this week.

Tyrrell will drive forward new strategic plans including the delivery of new large-scale programmes addressing issues of national significance and delivering positive social, environmental and economic change.

He will also be responsible for supporting the new chief executive who the Design Council is in the process of appointing.

McDonald's

Colin Mitchell has joined McDonald’s as global vice president of brand after spending the past 16 years at Ogilvy & Mather.

He most recently served as worldwide head of strategic planning at WPP’s Ogilvy & Mather and served as a member of the agency’s worldwide operating board. During his time at the agency, he worked with brands including Coca-Cola, IBM and BlackRock.

In his new role, he will report to McDonald’s global chief marketing officer Silvia Lagnado and will be tasked with articulating the fast-food chain’s brand vision and positioning. He will also be charged with “impacting major pieces of the McDonald’s brand, including advertising, visual identity and packaging.”

L.L.Bean

Former Asda and Homebase marketing chief Chris McDonough is set to take on the role of chief brand officer at L.L.Bean in Maine.

McDonough, who exited Homebase in March after just four months following Australia's Westfarmers' acquisition of the retailer, will relocate to the US firm with his family to take on the newly-created position, which will include joining its executive board. He will report to chief executive Stephen Smith.

Grey London

Three of Grey London's most senior staff have resigned, with chairman and chief creative officer Nils Leonard, chief executive Lucy Jameson and managing director Natalie Graeme officially stepping down from their roles.

While the trio have yet to confirm where they will be moving on to next, The Drum understands that they have plans to launch their own business.

The agency has moved quickly to fill the gap left by the departures, noting that it has "long had succession plans in place".

In a statement, the creative shop said chief strategy officer Leo Rayman will succeed Jameson as chief executive "in due course".

J. Walter Thompson

Tom Doctoroff is leaving J. Walter Thompson APAC to move back to the USA, handing John Gutterage the role of chief executive of the region.

Gutterage, who was previously chief executive of the agency’s operations in Australia and New Zealand, will take over the job, moving to the regional headquarters in Singapore. J. Walter Thompson said the move was known and a long-term succession plan had been underway for some time.

Doctoroff’s next role hasn’t been made public but he said: "After so long in Asia, a culture I have fallen in love with, it is nonetheless time to go home and pursue the next chapter in my life.

DigitasLBi

Carlos Ricque, senior vice-president-creative at DigitasLBi New York, is relocating to the agency’s San Francisco office to take on the same role.

He replaces Eric Dean, who “left the advertising industry to pursue his passion of becoming a ranch owner in Joshua Tree National Park,” according to the agency.

In his new role, Ricque will now serve as creative lead for clients including eBay, Taco Bell, and Pandora.

Vista

Vista has appointed Natalie Gill its client services team as senior project manager.

Gill joins the award-winning Leeds and London based agency as a senior project manager based at its Leeds site.

Gill has enjoyed career success delivering communications projects and shopper marketing for a number of globally respected brands including, Asda, Virgin Atlantic, Unilever, P&G, Boots and easyJet.

In her new role she will deliver campaigns for brands including Lloyds Banking Group, Lex Autolease and Scottish Widows.

Beattie

Beattie is poised to open four offices in Canada. The communication's office's first group will be in Toronto with additional operations planned for Calgary, Montreal and Vancouver.

Leading Beattie’s business in Canada will be Toronto-born Jessica McAndrew. McAndrew was a strategy coach before joining Groundzero marketing in Toronto in 2010. She joined Beattie six months ago.

In the UK, Beattie has a 100-strong team operating from eight offices including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
