The joint venture composes two separate arms: Creative England Talent and Creative England Accelerate.

The first will give creative businesses the opportunity to respond to specific innovation briefs developed in conjunction with Creative England and large corporate brands. Up to £500,000 will be match funded and made available to the best applicants to develop the briefs.

Karmarama has taken on the challenge of getting large brands on board.

The second division, Creative England Accelerate, will give ongoing support to digital companies responding to specific client needs. Selected businesses will receive an ongoing programme of support and advice, delivered through a series of workshops, showcases and one-to-one business mentoring.

Dawn Paine, chief marketing and strategy officer at Creative England, explained: “Speaking as an ex client with a background in brand building and category transformation, I'm both inspired by and passionate about the magic that happens when big and small companies collaborate creatively.

“Creative England is delighted to be partnering with Karmarama to catalyse and nurture those big and small guy partnerships. Through our unique position as an investor, connector and gateway to leading creative and tech start-ups, we're really excited to be helping brands and companies unlock their creative power to drive business growth and genuine competitive advantage."

The initiative will be officially launched at CE Live: Northern Lights on 7 July.
