Amazon’s Prime Day to return 12 July to sweeten the deal for subscribers
E-tailer Amazon is looking to incite excitement with the announcement that it will be holding its second annual Prime day 12 July.
Amazon Prime day makes a return
The promotion will see over 100,000 discounts made for Prime members, looking to replicate the sales volume of Cyber Monday and Black Friday while sweetening the deal for Prime members.
The day was introduced to celebrate Amazon’s second decade in operation in 2015 and turned out to be a bigger hitter for the company than Black Friday 2014 when comparing sale volumes.
Amazon Prime currently costs £79 a year in the UK, shrewd consumers could save more than the price of admission on Prime Day if they are in the market for a number of goods, with substantial discounts expected.
“Prime Day is a unique opportunity to discover new items and great deals, on top of our already low prices. Following last year’s record sales, we have dramatically increased the inventory behind many deals. In fact, in the US we have nearly double the TV units compared to Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined,” said Greg Greeley, vice president Amazon Prime.
For those wanting a taste of the Prime life, Amazon offers a 30-day trial to first time users.
